Any tips , resources , links or whatever helped you understand integration would be much appreciated.

I've heard a couple different math professors say that integrals get easier after the first thousand or so. As someone who has taken the classes in the calculus sequence 2-3 times, I find that to be true. (I failed the first time, passed the second, did non-mathematical stuff for a long time, and then decided to become a math teacher - and felt I needed to retake most of the calc sequence, so I did).

I really don't think there are shortcuts. There are a large number of tools in your integration toolbox, and you just need to develop an intimate familiarity with why each one works and when it applies, so you know when to use which tool. This familiarity can only be developed through experience.

If you just try memorizing formulas, you don't stand a chance. For me, it was very helpful to go through the proofs of *why* each tool worked. In some cases I had to spend over an hour reading through one proof, and jumping back to previous chapters a lot, to refresh my memory on stuff I had forgotten - but once I understood the proof, the whole idea made sense to me. When you understand *why* a proof works, you'll have a much better feeling for when it applies.

You don't need links: everything you need is right there in your textbook. My advice is to be very thorough about reading and understanding the proofs before you even attempt to do a single problem. At least that's what worked for me.
