as girls, me and my friends will be aware of what other girls look like...how they're dressed, how pretty they are, etc.
so do guys do the same thing with other guys? appraise their appearance, looks, etc?

No way! We notice how much you women are in too each others appearance, and how some fight over it. Unfortunately many men are insecure about who they are inside and make sarcastic, rude remarks to another man.

most men are simpletons and aren't usually as competitively cutthroat as women tend to be, but some men can pay particular attention to these details and it doesn't have anything to do with their sexual orientation... it's just part of their personality.
