Do not rush or it will look messy, make sure you have put enough time aside approx 20 mins for the time for the nails to be done & to dry.
If doing this at home I use a hair dryer on cold to speed up the drying process products you will need
Misa Top Coat high gloss for acrylic or natural nails
Orlay nail lacquer beverly hills manicure- sheer white
Orlay nail lacquer french manicure- bare rose
nail file (not metal)
rimmel nail polish -rose orchid
the rimmel I usually add to the white just a very small touch & shake like mental to mix up. this just takes the edge off the white so its not soooo white, you dont have to do it that way if you dont want to though.. You can buy the nail tip guides if you want but the problem with them is that when youremove them they leave a sticky residue to the nail which spoils the overall effect of the nail & once peeled off spreads the white over the rest of the nail you can try them but there awful.
step 1: with your nail file gently buff over the top of the nail follow through on all 10 nails., once finished use some nail polish remover on a piece of kitchen roll & wipe over nails.
Wash hands & dry if there are any pieces of fluff or anything on the nails make sure you remove it all before starting. The nails should be filed in a square like motion it makes the nails look better than if they were filed rounded.
Step 2:The top coat you can also use as a base coat, this dries very fast as does all the other products I have listed.this should be on the nails to two or three even coats on the nail. Wait until dry.
step 3:Brush off the excess & follow the smile on the nail in one even stroke from one side to the other on all 10 nails wait until dry. If you decide the white needs one extra coat once dried you can do that.
Always make sure all polish is dried before starting on another step or it will run into each other.
step4:bare rose-- in two or 3 even strokes go over each nail. wait until dry.
Step 5: once dry use the misa top coat & go on it 2-3 even strokes on each nail this gives it the perfect shine as if you have just come from a professional manicure.
The bare rose give a slight pink to the nails if you just want the white tip & a white nail just follow all the steps & leave out the bare rose step.
Another hint is get a small make up brush unless you go out & purchase one for acrylic nails, If you get any of the white on your skin around your nails we all know if you pick up the nail varnish remover its gonna ruin your new nails, get the brush & dip in the nail varnish remover wipe excess off on some kitchen roll & then brush over the mistake this will remove it without you ruining your nails.

You can buy little kits that aren't expensive that have tape shaped for your nails already, just apply them and paint above it. Make sure you use a good nail polish that doesn't peel easily so that it doesn't come off with the tape. Also, the nail polish corrector pens or q-tips with remover are easy to use on mistakes and you can have more control than just a cotton ball or tissue.

my sister taught me a genius way. al you have to do is put tape on your nails, surrounding the white part that you want to paint. then paint your french manicure. [make sure the tape is shaped the way you want your french manicure to be shaped]. then remove the tape and BAM! your french manicure is as good as proffesionals'!
