I have Two bettas that spawned the other day......But when I woke up I thought I would see the little tales sticking out from the bottom of the bubblenest but the sire had eaten them all.......Does anyone know why he did that and If I wait and spawn them when the female regains her strenght.....will he grow out of eating to eggs and start to care for the fry?
Please and thank you

bettas eat eggs sometimes b/c they know it isnt right. Both infected fry and eggs will be eatten if the male feels that the clutch isnt going to go well. Younger males will often eat eggs or not even be able to breed at all. Just let him get more practice.

Give the female about a week to recover, but another 2 weeks for conditioning.

He may have been stressed or scared by something. Or perhaps he was just hungry. When he hasn't been fed correctly before spawning he will eventually turn to eat his young :(. He also may just be a completely clueless father. Give it a few more tries but wait a couple weeks for the female to heal up and get more eggs. If he keeps doing it- oh well, some guys just aren't cut out to be parents :-P.

Normally a male that does this did so because of stress or because something frightened him. Sometimes too it's just because he's new at it and messes up. I give a male 3-4 tries before I don't breed him anymore, it can take that many for him to get it right.

You need to wait several weeks before trying to breed that female again. She will need to be conditioned and in good shape and have plenty of eggs again before she is ready to breed.

i like peanut butter and jelly sammiches! i'm partial to the classic raspberry jam and smooooooth peanut butter, served on easy wheat bread (no longer partial to ingesting on great dark total wheat bread as a results of fact it overpowers the yummy PB+J mixture). Oh, and definately desire the chips! in spite of the undeniable fact that, i like to place my chips interior the sammich as i flow alongside eatin' it---it provides basically the spectacular volume of crunch ^_^

You have to take the bubbles with the eggs out of the water and place them in a separate tank.
