I am not a Micheal Moore fan, but as a Registered Nurse I felt he nailed the American health care system dead on. I think our country is in need of Socialized medicine. What are your thoughts?

don't care to watch it. The only business the gov't has come close to succeeding in is the post office. Look at the airlines, health care the soldier were getting until we got tough with them(which by the way is an example of socialized medicine in the US right now). All countires with socialized medicine have failed miserably. Canada to name one. Socialized medicine will also stiffle and slow the process of finding new cures. For a blister it works okay but a real problem you better stand in line. Dems/libs always want more government involvement in our lives and higher taxes from you to pay for those programs that eventually fail or fail to meet standards.
Why don't we just become communist, like kennedy, mutha, kerry, clintons and those elitist want so they can even have more power over you and I. Leftist ideas always seem good until you break them down and it always screws you, I and everyone else it touches. As Hillary says "lets be smart".

I'm also a nurse, and I see all the reasons why we DON'T need it sitting right in our ER night after night. So, I don't need to see Sicko. I'm a star in my own reality show.

I'm all for a cost reform. It's no secret that it's expensive for the average person. But a universal plan will not only rapidly decline our excellent quality, but it will be a complete drain on the system.

We need to get to the root of our problems instead of applying a lipstick fix to it. Stop the illegal aliens from using our ER's like clinics and never paying their bill. Where do you think our system makes up these costs? That's right, the average tax payer and the average insurance premium. It all trickles down to fall on you.

We also shouldn't be expected to pay for other people's unhealthy lifestyles. As an RN, I'm sure you know about chronic care. I'm sure you know about the drug seekers who come into the ER hoping for a fix, and wasting everyone's money just as the illegals do. I'm sure you know about the morbidly obese and all the health problems they have, as well as your 2 pack a day for 40 years chronic smoker. I'm sure you know about people who want a new liver because they drank through their first one. I could go on and on. But, my point is, should we ALL be expected to pay for these people's unhealthy choices? Absolutely NOT.

I completely agree with Karma. I am not in favor for the so-called socialized healthcare system. I am completely in favor for EDUCATING people about health issues. You must start with the root of the problem to fix it, and I believe education is key. If more people would take personal responsibility and exercise, eat healthy, and make smart decisions then less people would be overcrowding the ER's and doctor's offices. Therefore, when someone has an unpreventable sickness such as cancer or an emergency surgery they can have quality and timely care without waiting in line.

As a Canadian, it was absolutely shocking to see the way that things are with the American medical system. Don't get me wrong our taxes are higher but, at least you never have to worry about how to pay the bill after a major surgery. It seems inhumane to me for rich people to have more of a right to live than poor.

The only thing it made me wonder is where Moore will go when he starts to have health issues. Canada?

I agree with you but I think we need to lose the word "socialized" because it comes with a stigma that has the public foaming at the mouths like Pavlov's dogs...having healthcare for everyone does not mean that the US will be communist. It's the large corporations that don't want everyone insured because they will lose their cash cows. The movie depressed me but I hope it wakes people up.

Anyone in the health care industry has been aware of the problem for years, if not decades.

He just made money telling a lot of other people about it.
