Still others moved to the U.S.
I think even Daniel Ortega spent a little time here in the States. I think he has family in New York.
Nicaragua, Honduras and other Central American countries are still very poor and in many instances, no better off than they were back in the 1980's. Like many poor countries there are many, many people who worry more about starving to death on a daily basis and less about Contras, Sandinistas, Communism or a Democracy. For many, survival outweighs the current political climate.
