Sound like the spark plug wires have broken down and are cross firing
.
Also the distributor cap or rotor may have cracks in them.
Could be water in your gas. Use some STP to take the water out. Make sure you buy the model that removes water.

Sounds like the oxygen sensor, but take it to auto zone and get a scan of the trouble codes for free, then you'll know for sure.

Are the sparkplug wires on correctly, I'd check that first.

start simple, plugs and wires, air filter....
might want to check your catalytic converter, they get old too.
