You can't stop terrorism with an Army.

Every terrorist you kill has a sister brother cousin that will want to avenge his death. It is a self perpetuating domino theory.

Our only chance is to criminalize it. Make the Arab Courts deal with it. If they want to play that "The Koran does not condone" game. Then haul every terrorist to Mecca to stand trial.

We have both the power and ability to force the hand of Mideastern Nations with this issue. Start with Trade agreements. Either prosecute Terrorists of you trade is suspended.

Well you have to look at it before Iraq. Right after 9/11 a coaltion was formed, it even included Russia and China, to share intelligence and and such. The ideal woulda been rotating more troops to Afghanistan, to eleminate the taliban and al-quaeda there. Then as more info popped in we arrange with nations who cannot police their own borders, to send in strike teams to take out training camps. We also should've have used more troops to secure our own borders, fix the visa program to better screen ppl from other countries entering the U.S., and also used the troops to start rounding up and deporting ANYONE from ANY country that was here illegally(12 million undocumented, how many could be here planning terror acts). Then using that coalition for intel gathering, when a soveriegn nation suspected of willingly harboring terrorists, you build UNDENIABLE proof, in order not to shatter a good thing before invading. Yeah I'll agree that Libs want troops out, and haven't given any ideas of what to do after, but Cons are just as bad as wanting our full military stretched all over the globe, while all our doors at home are open.

There are no easy solutions.

I'm very afraid that current U.S. tactics will only create more terrorist. I'd be very pissed if I was an Iraqi child and my parents were accidentally killed in the occupation of my country. Those kids aren't going to understand the technical reasons for going to war.

They only know pain, and they may think vengeance will solve everything. But I hope I'm wrong.

You can't fight terror in traditional ways, terrorists don't fight according to a set of rules. To kill terrorists we need spies. Real spies. Human spies. Not satellite technology. Terrorists can only be found and killed through intensive, covert action. Our overt actions in Iraq are not the answer to terrorism.

I agree that terrorists should be sought out and killed - however, I think they ought to kill all Muslims including women and children. All they do is produce more cookie cutter Muslims and if we killed all of them we could keep the undesirables out of existence.

1) Remain vigilant, use surveillance in the middle east (and leave American citizens alone).

2) There is no absolute security, and anyone who thinks there is has some real issues.

3) Spend some money on sea port surveillance and monitoring, cause this area literally has it's butt hanging in the breeze.

How about not funding them by eliminating our dependence on their sources of funds - namely oil. We're funding both sides of this war - we fund our own military to fight terrorism and we fund the terrorists every time will fill our gas tanks with their oil. How about America mind its own business, take care of its own citizens with their own tax dollars, enforce immigration laws already on the books, take the BILLIONS being pissed away in Iraq and put it towards BORDER control and PORT control, and how about America getting the HELL out of other countries which is FUELING the insurgency?? How about getting American military bases off of Holy Land, like we have been asked to do for decades? How about America stepping up to the plate and taking financial responsibility for the WRONGS we have perpetuated on other countries for decades?
