You could try putting the eyeliner thin on the top lid as well as at the bottom. You should also try to find a color that shows up instead of something light. Use a dark liner and a lighter eyeshadow. A good mascara that lengthens the lashes can also make your eyes appear wider. I wouldn't sweat it though. I'd rather have small eyes than big bug eyes! LOL. If this still doesn't work..try taking the focus off of your eyes by highlighting another feature on your face such as your cheekbones or lips!

Clinique makes a white eyeliner that I love. It sounds a little crazy, white eyeliner, but it makes your eyes look bigger. Also lightly surrounding your eyes in white eyeshadow is really good. Black eyeliner does not work, it makes it look smaller. Remember how black makes you look smaller? The same thing with eyes. Also put mascara on the outer lashes only to give you a doe-eyed look. Hope this helped! =

I used to have the same problem... until i got great advice. So here you go!
*Use a light colored shimmery eyeshadow to bring attention to your eyes.
*Line your top lid from the inside corner to the outside edge with a very thin line of black eyeliner.
*Line your bottom lid right along the lash line from the outside edge to the middle of your lid... don't go all the way to the corner
*Apply two coats of black mascara to your top lashes and then curl them.
*Make sure your eyebrows have a nice arch to them because it really opens up the eye area.
You will LOVE how this whole look will open up your eyes! :)

A good mascara will give the impression of larger eyes, as will the use of eyeliner on the bottom of your eyes, light eyeshadow will also give a good look. Many magazines have tips on this sort of thing

Instead of using a dark liner, try a white liner and apply thickly on the bottom lid, followed by your favorite color of eyeshadow applied to the top of your eyesocket and going all the way from the tip of your eye to the very edge. Use a good, thickening mascara.

1) Curl your lashes. Video demo: http://www.ehow.com/how_2872_curl-eyelashes.html
2) Apply eyeliner tight against the upper lash line only. Applying eyeliner on both top & bottom lash lines w/ a dark color outlines the eye & makes it look smaller.
3) Apply white eyeliner to the inner rim of the lower lid.
4) Groom your eyebrows so they are proportionate to your features & open up your eyes.
Comprehensive how to w/ diagrams: http://www.cosmeticscop.com/learn/makeup.asp?ID=175
Best brow shapes for each face type: http://www.eyebrowz.com/faceshape.htm
5) Stick to one light colored neutral, natural eyeshadow. Light colors bring things forward.
e.g. For daytime, use a soft taupe or lavender. For evening, try a soft champagne w/ a slight shimmer.

I've heard that white eyeliner in the inner corners works to make eyes appear larger.

eyeliner makes your eyes look smaller. use a color eyeshadow that compliments your eye color. A good mascara is great. I like Great Lash by Maybelline. It always makes my eyes look bigger.
