Sounds to me like Borneo would ring your ding. It certainly ticks all your boxes, whether you want to visit Sabah or Sarawak.
There's so much to do, so you'll find plenty to keep you busy. If you go to Sabah you can visit Sipidan, the best dive site in the world, or you can climb Mount Kinabalu, see turtles hatching, visit the Orang Utan sanctuaries or just chill on the beach.
You could stay out of town on the beach at -
Shangri La Tanjung Aru - http://www.shangri-la.com/kotakinabalu/t...
Shangri La Rasa Ria -

Or in Kota Kinabalu itself -
Le Meridien - http://www.asiahotels.com/hotelinfo/le_m...
The Berjaya -

To visit the Orang Utan Sanctuary, you'll need to fly to Sandakan and then onto Sepilok. For accommodation there, try -

Or use an organised tour which will take care of transport and accommodation -

If you go to Sarawak, you can see the Rainforest Music Festival (although that is just about to start), visit the Mulu Caves, take the cable car up Mount Santubong, chill on the beach at Damai, visit the Orang Utan sanctuaries or stay at a tribal longhouse, sipping tuak and hearing stories about head hunting days! The food is amazing too, especially the local seafood.
The Holiday Inn at Damai has been recommended by a prior answerer, and as much as I hate to do this as I have wonderful memories of the hotel, I would recommend against staying there. It's become very shabby, unfortunately. Instead try the Holiday Inn Damai Lagoon.
Borneo is one of the most stunning, friendly, dramatic and exciting places in the world, and I'd highly recommend you visit!

None of your requirements qualifies Malaysia. You're better off going to Thailand or Bali.
