Smokey doesn't mean that you have to use heavy or dark shadows. It's very nice to do a light smokey eye for the summer. The idea of a smokey eye is the color has to gradually go from dark to light with the darkest shade at the base of your lashes. Start with 3 colors and a dark eyeliner. Apply the eyeliner then apply the medium shade from the lash to just a little past the crease. Then use the darkest shade to smudge the liner and smoke it. Next use the lightest shade which should be nude and apply to brow bone and blend into crease so that the effect is smokey and not harsh. Apply lots of mascara. Good luck
