An average, normal, every day man. Everyone is curious. Not everyone buys PLAYBOY just for the pictures. The articles can be interesting as well as the added bonus of the pictures. Curiosity is healthy and normal.

Explicit books, movies, and toys used as entertainment or to spice up a love life without using it to the exclusion of other activities is a normal mature option for many. Explicit tapes can be used to educate, entertain, or to suggest ways to experiment with lovemaking. It's only when people force others or intimidate them into participating/watching/experiencing adult materials that it becomes obscene. What makes something obscene isn't that someone is nude or making love. What makes it obscene is when it is unwelcomed by someone. If your significant other isn't comfortable with such material, don't view it/use it in their presence. Many people are very insecure about their sexuality and believe that if their partner really enjoyed them they wouldn't need to use such outside stimulation. The truth is, men and women are both "hardwired" to notice and be aroused by the site of intimacy especially with Youthful, well-toned, mature bodies. It's like the women who get furious or insulted if their men DARE to look at another woman. I have never understood this. Do they not look at other men? Remember, they may look elsewhere as they are meant to do, but if they are with you, that says that you are special to them.

Oh, good grief! ((Shaking my head)) I'm on my soapbox again. Sorry about that! Have a great night. :)

My information on this is as out-of-date as the question. But if it has not changed in a manner inconsistent with its style in the 1960s and 1970s, a good many sincere goddess-worshipers read Playboy. True, the images are of women whose physical perfection is an honor to the Goddess of Love and Beauty, but that perfection is also a symbol of a more complete inner beauty. Women of real power, albeit decidedly feminine power, were always well respected in Playboy. And the femlin, that little black-stockinged sprite, was the symbol of a good bit of feminine magic.

Some pretty classy gentlemen read Playboy when I was young. Do they still?

It'd be an interesting experiment for them to publish a text-free issue just to see if anyone would notice! Then again, perhaps they switched to an all-photo format a decade ago and no one's caught on yet...

I couldn't tell ya, 'cuz personally I just look at the pictures ;).

(Some funny answers here, btw.... I'm SURE the fifteen MILLION people who bought Playboy in 2006 are ALL total losers who can't get real-life girlfriends. No need to let a little thing like reality stand in the way of your prudish judgments, ladies.)

A straight man who appreciates the literary works in the articles. Of course after reading them he stuffs them in the bottom of the tool box on the back of his truck so the missus won't find it.
