You mean for child support, i guess. It varies from state to state, but with 3 kids you can expect to pay approx. 40% of your salary, and keep up thier insurance. Fun times, huh?

Even if you said WHERE the question applies, you didn't say WHAT the money is taken for. You also didn't say what the other parent makes. If you are asking about child support, BOTH incomes are part of the support formula. The short answer to ANY such question is "Whatever the court orders." The rule about what the court can order vary by location.

If you are talking federal income tax there are a number of factors which need to be considered, are you married if so you have 5 dependents, are you blind (another exemption) were you affected by Katrina hurricane (another exemption ) are you receiving alimony, etc.

Based on limited info you provided I would GUESS you are in a 5% income tax bracket, but you really need to read the IRS guidelines.
