one turning a small profit..but mostyly covering the dvd/shipping cost.. she has been threatend to be turned in for using copyrighted music, how does she make this legal without making it completly free as she would be losing money on materials and shipping..??

It wouldn't be legal if she made the disks for free. You have to have a license to copy music and images.

She needs to contact the recording companies and photographers, and ask their permission to use their content.

I would hope the army would turn her in if she is sending illegal disks to our troops! We need to support them, but not by breaking the law.

Even making it free would not make it legal as the copyright laws only use the profit made to help determine the penalty. The only way to make it legal would be to get permission (in writing would be best) from the artist performing the music.

she needs ther permission of the artist to use the music
i was using music on webpages i used to make and i had to prove that i owned the copywrite of the music or had the permission of the artist otherwise i could have been sued for theft..which is what the artist can do to your friend unless they give her permission
