Like,
It's just a fascination and a like for the art of the female body. I've had male OB for the past 8 years. I LOVE him to death.

I think it is because men can never give birth and as such some male doctors want to help women to be in good health for pregnancy. That way the gynaecologist is helping people have children even though he is a man and can not give birth himself.
Also this is a well paid field of medicine and an interesting one.
I doubt many men would do this just to enjoy looking at vaginas because many of the vaginas the gynaecologist treats will have diseases or belong to old ladies so that would easily put off any perverts.

I considered it myself. There's a unique mix of medicine and surgery, and (especially in regards to the endocrinology) some areas of intellectual interest. Also, delivering babies, when everything goes well, is a blast. On the other hand, when things don't go well, it sucks, and the hours for obstetrics aren't the best in the world. I still sometimes wonder how they go home to their wives at night, too.

Same reason women go into gyno...it is an area of interest and usually pays well although many doctors are dropping out of the ob part of practice due to malpractice insurance rates and lawsuits. It's no different than male urology or surgery or any other specialty.

It must be their own choice. No one forces them into becoming a gynecologist. If they choose to become one, it has nothing to do with love towards females. It is because they're interested in that field.

It is a choice. maybe because they seem to have a understanding of what goes on in the reproduction organs and it is interesting to them. Or possibly because it's a business that doesn't go out of style, and in any field there are also a few bad seeds that give the others a bad rap.

A medicine specialization is a choice, and there are lots of them.
A lot of men are gynecologists because they like it, just as a proctologist likes his field of work. This in no way means they do it because they love females, but (ideally) because they love that field.

I know that my gyn is one because his mother died from cervical cancer.. many men out there that are gyn do it for that reason. They had a mother/sister/aunt/friend who has, had or died from cervical cancer.
But also its because they remember more about that part, not in a pervert sort of way but in a doctor way. I mean what makes a doctor a neurosurgeon or a proctologist.. or a doctor of any part of the body.. they just remember more about that part of the body then other parts...

One there is big money in OB/Gynecology and some of them do it becasue it is generally (especially the OB part) a happy profession where they get to share in the experience of helping people become families.
