When looking at Yahoo's MLB News, the news story titled "Bonds exposed in Game of Shadows" shows up as a new story every day. It's supposedly been updated every day for the last 3 weeks (or longer), since it debuted, bringing it to the top of the queue on the MLB News listings daily.

The story is decidedly anti-Barry Bonds. I'm not a huge Bonds fanboy, nor am I a Bonds-hater, but I think it's suspicious that i've been seeing this story listed as new every day for weeks now. Is Yahoo biased against Bonds as well, allowing this story to run over and over? Or does the author PA SportsTicker Staff Writer Tom Covill simply need to mark it as "updated" (without making any changes to it) to get his story listed as a top news story every day?

FYI... I *do* think it's libelous.... I believe in "innocent until PROVEN guilty", and the last sentence of the story that reads "...'Game of Shadows' exposed the greatest player of our generation for the cheat he is." alone is a bit accusatory.

Secondly, I understand that because he's so close it's definitely in the public eye... But the author seems to be breaking the rules to get his opinion out there by getting the story posted as new every single day. It just seems kind of wrong to me.

You know what, I know in my heart he took the steroids but still at the point he was taking them baseball refused to test for it. So when baseball refused it is a dead issue. He was a HOF product way before it was exposed that he may be juicing. I believe that he did get jealous of "inferior hitter" Mark McGwire getting all of the attention. I do believe this prompted him to take action. If he dies too soon, we will all know the truth. But it still doesn't take away that the guy, with or without was still a great player. Even if you erase all of his stats that were allegedly his "steroid" period he still has amazing statistics.

People can write books and articles all they want and people can believe everything the government tries to leak about him all they want but don't be "tainted" yourself. I will never shun a guy who has never been punished by baseball for his actions. I will never hate Barry because you would pretty much be hating the majority of MLB. Lots of guys take steroids for speed. If you noticed in the article it mentioned "Stanozolol"! So instead of trying to convict somebody who is Hulking, also look at the guys who have stolen a lot of bases.

I think the article is a informative but also biased in hatred for the man. The last line is not necessary at all because all of this evidence is circumstantial, nothing more, nothing less! Whatever turns this writer on though is fine by me!

THIS DOES SOUND LIKE "ACTUAL MALICE" TO ME AND LIBEL (he has tried his best to smear Bonds as much as he can in the article):

"Bonds never has been liked by the media or fans outside of the Bay area, and "Game of Shadows" exposed the greatest player of our generation for the cheat he is."

It sucks that we have to be exposed to any and all types of anti-Bonds sentiment every day. At the St. Francis Hotel in SF yesterday, Barry answered the media, who started the smear campaign against him. He was truthful, asked if any of the media knew of his 24 hr. daily activities, shadowed his every move or lived with him when the alleged steroid news came out and no one answered "yes".....

They did not have any type of proof of steroids use and tried to leapfrog and avoid the matter after Barry explained that they cannot make stories up about someone just because they are falsely labeled "unfriendly" by the media.

I'm sick of people talking crap about Barry. At the ball park and at the All Star FanFest this weekend, I never heard anyone badmouth Barry Bonds at all. Heck, I respected all of the visiting fans here in San Francisco and wished their hometown players well during the AS Game! Baseball is only a game and not a forum to bash players just because the media says so.

I think it's because the spotlight seems to be on Barry during the All-Star break, and they figure it's a good time to regurgitate the same old story for a larger readership.

I'm not a Bonds fan, and I thought the book was great, but it gets old quickly to read the same old stuff every day. I think fans should be able to make up their own minds about Bonds and his accomplishments.

I noticed that too, it is annoying now. I want updated MLB news, not the same stories for 2 weeks. I read them when they were first posted and enjoyed them, but enough with them now.

I think it is good for the public to be reminded of how big a piece of crap Bonds is on a daily basis - lest we forget!

First of all. it is NOT "libelous", and 2nd bonds deserves all the negative press.
