She is bi-racial, she WAS bisexual (until she got married to a guy and had an adorable baby girl) and she has always refused to sign on to a major label.
She packs concert halls everywhere because she is like an icon for people who like REAL music and not corporate-fabricated people like Britney Spears.
She was very political until a few years ago and is now living the life of an accomplished musician, having hob-nobbed with everyone from Margaret Cho to Al Gore to Bob Dylan.
Ani DiFranco is probably the best Guitarist I have ever heard live... and her lyrics are powerful, thoughtful and introspective.
Her best album to get a feel for her music is "Not A Pretty Girl" or "Carnegie Hall 4.6.02".

John Cusack, ever since I saw him in The Journey of Natty Gann when I was a little girl I have loved him. He has this kinda quirky, funny, modest thing going for him and he pretty much has that same personality in every role he plays.
