I'm not married - so I can't answer my own question (yet) . . . maybe one day.

30s - Pay bills, argue about bills, spend more money to get more bills.
40s - Pay bigger bills, argue about bigger bills, spend more money to get bigger bills.
50s - Children move out, finally have less bills, but husband buys a Ferrari. No longer argue, in fact, no longer talk to each other.
60s - Plan for Retirement. Tries traveling together, starts arguing again. Babysit grandkids, talks about grandkids, spoil grandkids.
70s - Start to appreciate each others' company.
80s - Husband dies, wife goes to Bingo.
90s - Wife dies gets buried beside husband. Peaceful at last.

Pretty much the same thing they do every day when they aren't married. Many couples live together for a period of time before mairrage. They go to work, then hang out around the house, do some housework, watch TV, read, whatever they feel like doing. They could go out with friends, or together alone, or anything else. If the couple has children, they must be cared for and attended to. The activities you engage in in your youth become the activities that keep you active in old age, except of course those which become difficult with age, such as dancing, or sports. Besides age, the real restriction is children. Instead of supporting two people, the household income must support three (or more) people. This shouldn't keep the couple from having fun, it just gives them new priorities

Well by that time, its hard because you may have had kids. Take your wife out for a pinic and I promise you that you will have a ball. And I don't think that there is much for a married couple to do at the age of 90, but hope and pray that they don't die tomorrow.

30's

We waited to have children; so in a ways we are still dating. We live in NYC so we never run out of stuff to do. In fact if I didn't live in NY I would slit my wrist; my mother in law lives in North Carolina and after eating there ain't much to do.

Activities include:

Home cooked meals, Wine, Playing Card Games, Having intimate dinner parties, Traveling on Weekends (Chicago, Philly, Savannah, Upstate NY), Dancing, Jazz Pubs, Central Park, Coney Island, candlelight dinners, foot massages, being a good listener, watching DVD movies together (netflix.com), being best friends, organic markets, broadways shows (the Color Purple was awesome!), bowling, walking over the Brooklyn Bridge at night, Talking B&W pictures of each other and together, Book readings, SHARING YOUR DREAMS, watching little to no tv, Exercising (Yoga, Dance, Power walking, weight training), and pretty much anything that the two of you can do together.

Married couples' activities are NO different than those of other couples, regardless of age.

We've been married almost 37 years, and we're still doing some of the same things that we enjoyed when we were first dating.

The same things as everyone else. They watch tv, go to the store, go camping, fishing, walking, go to movies, talk and do all of the normal things in a relationship as their health allows.
