Whoever does the laundry gets to keep what is in the pockets. However, you tell him you found it and are keeping it. Never hide things from your spouse.
However, if you were just putting the clothes away and not doing laundry, then give the money back to him.

We have a deal in this house, any money found in the laundry is mine to keep since I do the laundry. But if it's a LOT of money, like $1000 or something then give it back, it might be for a bill or something.

Dont get me wrong, my husband, a japanese and normally and majority, the wife would be the financial controller hence if my husband had big amount of $ with him, then it would be strange and that's when the interrogating start!

If he is too lazy to take the money out of his pants before he throws them in the floor, it belongs to the finder.

NO! If he leaves it laying around, he surely doesn't value it very much. It deserves to go to someone who will love it more.
