Ok, everyone's yelling at me because I'm the heartless villian out to ruin the environment. But seriously, what the hell did those concerts do (well, they mildly entertained, but in terms of global action)? I mean, are we letting the environment know we care? And how much energy was used, how many plastic waterbottles (may I add, held by many of the performers onstage)? Come on, this whole event was organized by AL GORE. Buddy, get your life in order before you come telling us how to live ours. Plus, didn't you demonize rock music not too long ago?
What a huge waste. This completely undermined events such as the Conspiracy of Hope Tour for Amnesty International, or Liveaid or Live8, all three of which actually changed something by occuring. To save the environment- turn off your lights, don't litter, be kind to animals, don't make a bigger ecological footprint than you have to. It's that simple.
So- am I being heartless? Or just realistic?

Hello,

One of their peers, the Arctic Monkeys from Britain condemned it and refused to take part stating that rock stars and celebrities will use enough power to run 10 homes for a day in their performances, they all use ozone eating private jets to go to work, and opinions on the global warming should be left to qualified scientists... not musicians. What tod they know or do for that matter?

I think that your being realistic. God made this earth to be able to stand us humans. I think that before we ruin this hell hole, something else will. outer space bombardment, technology leading to another planet to litter, or jesus will come again and save all his children who love him. Im not saying through your dogs crap in the ocean or to get plastic bags to purposly through around. But if you want to leave the tv on when you go to the store, or the lights when your asleep, or even keep the water running more than it should then go ahead.

It did put lots of carbon to the atmoshpere by having these stars fly around the globe. I think it did the opposite of its intended purpose.

(I will even bet nobody carpooled to get there.)

The concept behind it was good, the only problem was believing Gore really gave a crap was what I had issues with... so many blind people..
