People who are not gay think they are the most knowledgeable about gays. They have theories which they deem to be fact, an answer for every question...etc..

Unless there are several straight scientists here with studies devoted solely to homosexuality...overlooking the religious nuts of course.

haha I agree 100% I love when someone tells me something about myself, when they know absolutely nothing about me. Or they just resort to saying, "it goes against God... it's in the Bible!" Because apparently the bible says NOTHING but "Just say NO to 'choosing' to be gay!" :)

Edit- Why do people want to insist that we choose to be gay? That's what I don't understand? If we choose to be gay, doesn't that mean everyone straight could just say, 'Hey it's tuesday wonder what same sex relationships are like, I'll have to try that this weekend!' But you know since drug users aren't born drug users, we can't be born homosexual... got it! please...

I couldn't agree more. I am straight and I can't even claim to be an expert about straights. However, perhaps some of these folks do have some claim to "expertness" concerning gay citizens. After all, it's those very "religious nuts" you mention that appear to be incapable of thinking or talking about little else but gay people. I don't know any gay people that are as completely focussed on gay people and gay sex as those right wing religious nuts.

I was telling my sister this very thing a couple of weeks ago when we were having a dinner (she is a born again christian). I was telling that unless someone is gay then how can they know anything about it? She agreed with me that straight people really have no right to comment because they are not gay and are not going through the same things we go through.

Yes, it's funny when some people try to pass off their "learned knowledge" (one doesn't really know from where) as the be all and the end of all universal truths.

Some people, on the contrary, do make the effort to understand what we are all about, and offer genuine advice, or opinions based on facts they have gathered from the community itself. I am sure in the multitude of scientists, there are those who really want to unravel the 'mysteries' surrounding alternate sexuality.

advantageous. a salesperson knocked on the door of a house in a clean housing progression and a woman replied the door. He began, "Ma'am, i'm advertising the latest innovation in vacuums, it is the excellent little device I actual have seen in an prolonged time," and with that, he proceeded to offload on her new carpet a mixture of ketchup, salsa, dirt, grape juice, etc. as she watched, horrified. He suggested, "If this vacuum would not freshen up that mess, i'm going to consume it!" She suggested, "could you like a fork?! we've not have been given the potential on yet!"

Everyone likes to think they're right, so they take a few things that were said by other people such as "homosexuality is a chemical imbalance" and go on and on about things I'm willing to wager they've never researched.

In which case, I ignore people who willingly speak from their anus in a cheap attempt to look intellectual and "right" in the eyes of another. Damn you pseudo-intellectuals, with your fake knowledge and what not!

:D Good question, by the way.

Yeah, that is ridiculous. Someone will ask a question, and there'll be an answer like. "I'm not gay, but I know that most lesbians..." Then they tell about what lesbians think and feel and do as if they have any basis for their answer. It's silly.

I find it very funny that someone (Bareback Cowboy, now Mr. Jello) actually proved your point by trying to disprove it! I am bi, and even with that, I can not cliam to be an expert. I think people who try to pass off their beliefs as fact need a reality check.

Funnier yet is that the very same people are also "experts" on Islam, Judaism, psychology, sociology, minorities, economics, immigration, the environment, animal husbandry, and Chinese politics, and have a monopoly on "common sense". Amazing how much knowledge one can accumulate when they shut down their brains and have it spoon-fed to them by a preacher, supplemented by church foyer gossip.
