I have such bad periods. I get cramps, bloating, legs hurt, heavy flow, and headach. Because of this situation i don't want to play H.S basketball but i feel like doing it next year and ignore the pain. What should i do to feel good and play and exercise.

My periods are just like yours. I never want to let my period hold me down. Talk to your doctor about this problem. Often doctors put you on the pill. Some people dont know that the pill is not just for pregnancy protection, but also for period regulation. If your parents are not comfortable with you being on the pill (my were not) there are other options. You can start taking Motrin or Ibuprofen about 4-5 days before you perion 3 times a day. This will build up in your system and help your cramps when they start....keep taking the pills as long as needed. As far as heavy flow, he pill could help that, but not much else. Use the biggest size of tampons for games. Good Luck...dont let your period hold you back from having fun and enjoying highschool.

i dont play basketball, but i agree with the cramps, mine get real bad to the point i cant walk and i do cheerleading. Its said that moving around and excercising is actually good for you. It helps to get rid of the pain. Yes its hard to actually start moving around due to the pain but it actually helps to a point.

From what I have read - physical exercise might help to alleviate your symptoms. I would start now. Ask the coach what he/she recommends for you to do to prepare for next year's season. I would also take a look at what you're eating.

Try to cut down on caffeine close to your period. I really think exercise will help you most.

usually when you move around and excersize, in ways such as basketball, then it makes it lighter and the period much more tolerable. the symptoms such as cramps will lighten up as well.
