I won't call you silly, but I will say it is just you only because the Lone Star is not the cheapest place to buy gas....

Sorry to burst your Big Texas pride bubble, yet having done and still do a lot of traveling throughout the lower 48, it never has been and probably never will be a traveler's choice place for cheap gasoline/diesel prices.

Those who do do a lot of traveling know that Mississippi and Louisiana are the best places for inexpensive fuel prices everywhere; with Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida and most eastern southern states running pretty close together.

But to keep your Texan spirits high, the Lone Star is still a nice place to visit with San Antonio and El Paso being my personal favorites overall.

:-)

It still isn't cheap. You'd think Houston would be the cheapest in the country and it isn't. We've done a bit of driving this summer and found other places cheaper than Houston where a huge portion of it is refined.

There are more gas refineries in Texas. They are everywhere around Houston.

It's the cheapest down south because of it's close proximity to most of our refineries.

Texas has the most refineries.. has nothing to do with politics.
