I'm 23 right now and currently living in the United States. This Fall I plan to be studying at conservatoire at the Hague in the Netherlands. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find information about f rooms or apartments in the Haguer? I'm going by myself and would prefer a single room, but I could share a room as long as I am able to maintain my own privacy and that I don't get distracted by my tenent talking on the phone or playing music. I plan to be moving around late August (maybe around August 20 or so) since classes start near the beginning of September. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find a place to stay in the Netherlands? As of now I don't speak a word of Dutch and so I would prefer English websites, but if anyone has any Dutch websites I could take a look at those too (I'll just translate them). Thank you very much.

You are leaving this very late, many rooms will already be given by now.
I think your best bet is contacting the Tourist information office:
http://www.denhaag.com/default.asp?id=DOORWAYNEWS-uk
as they are the people to ask about accommodation and businesses.
But be clear in that you need a long term, students, room.

You will find that not many people in the Netherlands have room-mates, you might find a shared apartment, but hardly ever a room.

Also contact your conservatoire as they might have a person helping with housing problems or at least a list of trustworthy agents.

I have no idea of your budget, but here are some websites you can use:

http://www.marktplaats.nl/ (a dutch equivalent of craigslist.org...go down on the left and click on the link "Woningen | Huur", after that, go down on the right and click on "Zuid-Holland | Den Haag"....this will show you companies and private persons offering housing.

www.houselink.nl/denhaag
www.wobeco.com
www.happyhousing.org
http://site.duinzigt.nl/?setlang=EN

If you want to call someone, don't hesitate because nowadays 99% is able to speak english. Good luck in your quest for a nice place, enjoy Den Haag (The Hague)...btw...I am moving to Chicago from The Hague in a few weeks time.
