I'm thinking it wasn't for love but for money because through the whole movie she was always using him and then she would disappear.

It was for love and also that she was dying. Forrest was the father of her son and she wanted him with Forrest because she knew he was a good man and knew that he was the only one who ever truly loved her, no matter what. She wanted her son to have the life she never had, full of love and support. She did love Forrest but not in a romantic way. She wasn't using him throughout the movie she was searching for love. She just didn't have it for Forrest the same way that he had it for her. But because she loved him and knew that he would probably never find it because of his disabilities she gave in a few times so that he could experience things that, she thought, he probably never would. Like the scene where they are in her dorm and she lets him touch her breast. At least that was my take on the movie.

I think that since she knew that she was dying of AIDS, she wanted to make sure that Little Forrest would be with his father after she died. Especially since she knew Forrest would take care of her and the child. Jenny loved him, but she just had too many issues to be with someone like Forrest Gump. That's why she always left to make a mess of her life.

I really believe it had to do with a couple of reasons. The security of knowing her child will grow up with sheer unconditional love, and the fact that Forrest was always there for her, even when she didn't know what she wanted. She finally realized that he was the only one that saw past the hard outside of her, and loved her for who she was, not the things she did.

She's dying and wants him to take care of their son. I believe it's revealed in the film that Forrest is the father.

She knew she was gonna die so she wanted him to take care of lil Forrest. Or maybe she finally realized how badly she has treated him over the years, and wanted to make amends.

Facing the reality of death and having no real family to care for her son, she had a wake up call on what was truly important to her. She may have hoped that he still loved her, but she was probably more concerned with who would take care of her son. The marriage could have been a nice bonus.

she was simply reconciling all of the mistakes in her life. she only left forrest because she new her lifestyle would harm him. once she changed she new it was time to see him and let him know of his son . he was the only person she respected and that respected her.
