What purpose do you think cats have with the supernatural?

I've been told that when cats follow something with there eyes but theres nothing in the room there watching a ghost. Also heard that ghosts are scared of cats. Should i believe all that?

Cats have a hieghtened sense that we do not. They feel energy in ways that we don't usually. They can often sense beings before you or I could. As with all animal intent is important. Cats however tend to have a wonderful gift for protection from spirits. One way they do this is they transmute energy. In other words they take the negative energy process it into positive energy.

Could it be possible the cat is more sensitive to the energy's in the room? Could you be scaring the cat with your thoughts somehow?

Maybe your thoughts are making the energy react and the cat is feeding off the vibe.....

Animals can sense fear... So why would your cat be reacting? Because you are.

I'm not saying cat's cant see ghosts, I'm just saying maybe there is more than meets the cats eye... (hehe)

It is a common belief that cats can feel other emotions, possibly that is how they communicate, we really don't know for sure. And it is a common belief that cat exist between worlds, they are not weighed down by the problems of the world and the concepts of reality that they can see what reality truly is. Your cats may see ghosts, they may see fairies, they may see floating orbs of light, who knows. And supposed ghost are afraid of cats, i don't know about you but when i feel uneasy, if a cat is in the room i feel much better, sometimes i even go get the cat and feel much better, lol. But all of this is superstition and open to interpretation.

I remember one night I had a horrible dream, so horrible that I woke up shaking and in sweat. The room was darker than usual, although the night was bright and the lights from outside should have been seen. My cat was staring at the darkest corner of the room and growling the way I've never heard her before. I was afraid to go to sleep and stayed awake until the morning.
I'm convinced there was something in the room, and she saw it, and she was scared of it.

Well in ancient Egyptian times, they gaurded the underworld, and that could be where the cat v.s. ghosts thing came in. I think that cats can see things that we can't, so I would not rule out the possibility that they follow ghosts with their eyes. But I think that's really the only purpose they hold. Ciao!!!

It may be possible. Cats are very mysterious and nobody quite knows what they are thinking. Animals are very intuned to nature and could probably sense these things a lot better then humans can. I think they can sense the energy of a ghost or something. Humans can sense engery too, but not as strong as an animal can.

I have heard many things like that before, and I would like to believe them, but unfortunately we will probably never know. Cats are mysterious and very interesting. I once saw a story about a cat in a home for elderly who would spend time about a week in advance to patients that were about to pass away. I think they have some kind of 6th sense...

Well, as a professional, I'd have to say that, indeed, cat's can sense the supernatural... But, my ghostie friends and my cat get along great! She even purrs when he's in the room!

Cats are fine friends. They feel when their humans are sick or sad and come over to offer comfort. My cat stays with me when I am sick. I wish I could teach him to make a cup of tea. Oh, yeah, about the supernatural?? no dice.
