It is not so much a summer vs. winter comparison as there will fluctuations even within the same month. Here is a general breakdown of busy vs expensive times in Vegas.

The cheapest times of the year are the entire month of July, last 2 weeks of December and the week immediately after New Years. These are great times to go since you can often get great deal even at the nicest places like Bellagio and Venetian. I go every year just before Xmas.

Much of the rest of the year is busier for one reason or another. Conventions are busy from the 2nd week of January (CES) through May. June starts slowing down and getting cheaper through the end of July as it gets really hot. August is prime time for European tourists so prices start going back up. After Labor Day, the conventions kick back in and its usually pretty expensive through the NFR Rodeo which is the 1st week of Dec.

The best thing to do is to just keep an open schedule and check the prices for several weeks right around the dates you want to go. Prices can be incredibly high one week for a big convention then drop considerably the next if there is no big event going on.

I hope this helps!

For rates check the hotel casino websites most will break down the price by the day. As a general rule our rates in vegas are slightly lower during the winter months. However if there is a major event in town the rates will sky rocket and there will be a minimum stay involved. For the best rates sunday through thursday are best. Also check for package deals many times casinos will give a great deal just to get you here to play find a good travel agent in your area and they will be able to give you more details.

not really.. it mostly depends on whether the sales are high or low.. if the sales are high the prices will be high, if the sales are low, the prices will be much cheaper.. a lot of people don't travel to las vegas when its summer, most people who frequently visit las vegas would know better than to go to vegas in august versus february, feb is the best time, not too hot but HOT either but its still hot lol.. its wayy to hott out there for tourism.. also if ur looking ahead like in 2008, you'll find pretty decent deals, but they will be changing all the time, you could pay more for what could be ever less a couple days or weeks later then before you know its way more pricey than ever.

In most cases, yes, because it is so hot in Vegas in the summer. The 'on' seasons are fall and spring, and of course any holiday weekend or major sporting event.

I think they are, because it gets wicked hot there. Hotels offer lower rates in the summer. Alot of people try to go in spring winter or fall.
