No its not pathetic. I just turned 27 today and I think the books are brilliant. The films cut a lot out of the storylines but they are still really good.
It took me a while to really start reading the books but once started its impossible to put them down. When Deathly Hallows comes out, my bf if resigned to being an HP widower for a few hours LOL.

If you're pathetic I don't know what that makes me or hubby or our 33 year old son! We all enjoy Harry Potter! I prefer the books and as I'm typing this my son is listening to Stephen Frys Audio book of Order of the Phoenix!
We all need a little 'escapism' from the crappy 'real' world!

Well how sad does that make me I am 32 and love the Harry Potter books. I have always loved books similar to these and regardless of age always will.

The author is a exceptional writer and I honestly believe the books are loved by all ages, pity i can't wear the costumes though..lol :(

I'm 33 and think harry potter is great. The books are well written and the films are as faith full as they can be.I just wish more popular culture could be this good.

Good for you! I do, too, and I'm 29!

There is absolutely nothing 'pathetic' in enjoying a good story. Rowling uses a lot of mythology-based imagery which appeals to lots of adults. Others just like reading them - what is wrong with that? What really IS pathetic, in my opinion, is people going around slating others for liking a book/film/whatever, just because they don't like it themselves.... what a childish and narrow-minded way to behave!

Yes I love the books, I've read them about 20 times each, I'm a huge fan!
However the movies didn't do the book justice, so I don't really enjoy them... Anyway it's not pathetic I'm with you!
