I am assuming that the router is able to communicate with other wireless pcs on your network and the router's wireless is enabled. If this is incorrect, be sure to enable wireless functionality on the router per router's manual.

Now on the notebook -

You need to enable the wireless port by opening it and going through the configuration. Be sure to match the config set up on the router (encryption, preshare key, etc) and make sure the MAC of the notebook wireless connection is listed on the router's list of permitted connections if you are using MAC address verification as part of your security (which you should do).

Auto connection, do not use IP address, this address changes each time you log on, imposable to keep up with IP address... ok have fun

go to control panel, then network and connection, and theres a files there, right click it and press enable
