It really depejnds on your market area and how much you are going to pay for shipping on various products, especially fish. If you are within driving distance of a wholesales you can save major money for example.

To do a good job of a saltwater store, employee costs etc and a safety net to get you through the rough spots in the first 2-3 years, you're easily looking at $250,000 - 350,000. $500,000 isn't unreasonable.

im guessing it will probably cost anywhere from 100k too 500k+ depending how nice/big you want it to be saltwater is a pricey venture. just be careful and make sure you know alot obout saltwater before you do anything this drastic like spend that much money. freshwater fish are a little less risky but still there isnt much profits in a fish store from what i hear.

i wish you the best of luck

good luck with your problem

depends on the size of the store, if you keep overhead low and mainly focus on supplies and only 4-8 large fish tanks and 1 or 2 coral tanks you could maybe be out 20-100k, focus only on quality products, no garbage and know what people want, keep overhead low, maybe a weeks worth of live and food supplies. really depends on size

Hi, It all depends on the type of tank that you are planning. If you are planing on have live corals, invertebrates, or just fish. A reef tank is what would be need if you are planning on having corals or invertebrates. They tend to be filter feeders. Reef tank can be very large and get to be very expensive. Oh the other hand a fish only tank can be very small and very cheap as well.
