She told the truth about Bush and Iraq.

She has stood up to the right wing bullies that hate her for exposing their cowardice.

She actually TRIES to serve her country.

Is it knee-jerk misogyny, or just plain reaction to the fact that some people actually stand up for their country, much to the dismay of the far right?

I wouldn't say we are crying about Sheehan... but...

Benedict Arnold had guts and he is considered a traitor.

What I want to know is if Cons think Cindy Sheehan is irrelevant, why doesn't Bush have the guts to talk to her. Is it because she might actually have several valid points, and the best Bush can do is stand under a mission accomplished banner and spout BS?

It's a shame the way we treat true patriots in this country. I'm truly afraid Cindy may end up like Dr. Martin Luther King. Cons have a tendicy to kill what they can't understand.

And by the way - in response to an above comment - Nancy Pelosi is a spineless liar. I may be a democrat, but I know a liar when I see one -Pelosi's campaign promise was to work to end the war in Iraq. What has she done? Backed out on the first round.

I saw her interviewed the other evening and was actually mildly surprised. She did not act like the raving maniac that I had expected.

I seriously doubt that she'll stand a chance against Nancy P., though. Nancy has too much to lose. What are your thoughts?

I don't know if it's "knee-jerk misogyny" or just people afraid of change.
She DID tell the truth about bush and Iraq.
She DID stand up to the right wing bullies.
She has shown a lot of courage. I think it just boils down to the fact that she's got sack and a lot of the far right can't handle that.

The only thing Sheehan has that right wingers don't have is a lack of understanding about what the war is all about.

"America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for..." •

CARACAS (AFP) - Anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan, mother of a US soldier killed in Iraq, joined more than 10,000 anti-globalization activists in Caracas, where she hailed Venezuela’s leftist President Hugo Chavez.

"I admire him for his resolve against my government and its meddling," said Sheehan

Yea, what a Patriot.....Thank goodness our soldiers don't serve their country the same as Sheehan , NO telling what country we'd live in....

Cindy Sheehan is an American who is outspoken in her views, and the more power to her. Her son was killed in Iraq, and supported our "president," and he sacrificed *everything* -- he truly served our country with distinction.

I think such strawman questions that pit one American against other Americans are incredibly dull and narrow-minded -- a trait I usually associate with the sheep who blindly follow in others' footsteps.

I mean, you were asking for opinions, after all...

every mother has the right to grieve in whatever way she needs to. but she took everything away from her sons memory by doing what she did. he signed and was probably very proud of what he stood for and his beliefs. Her son served his country, she failed to serve his memory.

what guts does is show when you jusmo on the bandwagon. cut the crap. shes not standing up for her country. shes getting publicity.

Right wingers...have a strong need for consensus. They need to sound alike and look alike and think alike...to them consensus reinforces their beliefs. They also don't like the concept that solutions are sometimes subjective and that there may not be an absolute answer. So, they're not tolerant to a lot of different concepts or points of view. To them if you don't think like me than you're stupid (which to me is small minded). They're black and white - absolute people...that lack ability to think outside of the box.
