Yeah I like Liam for a boy, you could also have Conor, Sean or Patrick - all good strong boy names.
How about Aisling (means dream), Aoife or Fiona for a girl

Of course, Mary has also traditionally been very popular in both Scotland and Ireland.
For girls, I personally like the sound of Kristy Marie McKee,
Cameron Quinn McKee (one of the characters in Viriginia Woolf's "To the Lighthouse," which was set in Scotland, was named Cameron, or "Cam"), Margaret Jean McKee,(nicknamed "Maisie"), and Gillian Greer McKee (Gigi would be a cute nickname).
For boys, try Lachlan Neil McKee (Lachlan Macquarrie was the father of Australia), James Alexander McKee (Alexander is a traditional Scottish name, even if it doesn't make the list), or Ian Alastair McKee.

Before I read the end of your post I was thinking Liam too. I think it's an awesome name and VERY Gaelic.
Good choice stick with it.
For a girl I like Ciera but I perfer it spelled with a K.
