Like many he doesn't really understand this issue fully and clearly isn't as bright as he would have people think.

He is clearly speaking of the relation to the Sun compared to the earth:

ROTHSCHILD: "Because those planets are closer to the sun, my friend."

ALEX JONES: "No, Jupiter and Saturn are not closer to the sun and neither is Mars."

Rothschild then quickly changes the subject and when the point is raised again later in the show, he makes no effort to correct himself.

I dunno. Scientifically illiterate sounds like a possibility. Or perhaps he didn't say it... I can't seem to find a direct link to the quote anywhere.

There's a lot of scientific illiteracy and half truth on all sides of this issue.

Rush used to go on and on about how ice cubes melting in a glass wouldn't make the glass overflow. His followers took up the mantra and you heard this spiel endlessly.

Of course, if you put a block of ice on the counter next to a sink, and the ice cube melts, the level in the sink WILL rise. Which is more of a description of the process of the melting of landlocked ice than Rush's apocraphyl icecubes in a glass.

But never mind. There's enough ignorance to go around.

He was making fun of Bush for saying:

"Africa is a country."

"There is no French word for entrepeneur."

"I want to bring in more oil from Mexico to reduce our dependence on foreign oil."

"Is this microphone off? Good, those ******* ***king bas****s.."

"Get Dan Quayle in here, I need some help with spelling".

"Because those planets are closer to the sun, my friend."
