Don't forget he invented the Internet as well as being the lone voice of reason for Global warming. This guy is a genius. I am not sure if my sarcasm came through oh well.

well global warming is real. The cause of it is at debate. IF it is atmospheric CO2 then according to the movie by Al Gore its clearly too late the numbers are way past fixing at this point. I personally believe global warming will be a boom for many countries especially Canada and Northern USA. I think that all the time the Cray 2 computers have logged working on this issue is why its politicized as it has been. Where I live all thats projected to happen is increased rainfall. The gloom and doom is not for all people everywhere.

Actually, the Gorester found a niche that was right up his alley (of you'll pardon the mixed metaphor). He is attempting to politicize the process of scientific inquiry, which has both its good ($$$) and bad (lots of morons putting their two-cents in) aspects.
While the causes of global warming remain poorly understood, there is no doubt that it is happening. If Big Al can get some major efforts going to develop climate control, it might not be a bad thing, even if human beings are not the proximate cause of the phenomenon.
Wouldn't it be nice to know how to work the thermostat on our "Spaceship Earth" ... at least as long as it is the sole repository of our species in the universe.
Cheers.

In all fairness, Gore did have a life before politics. He certainly isn't a chemist, biochemist, biologist, or meteorologist, but sometimes a concerned citizen is capable of bringing massive attention to a topic of concern simply because it needs to be looked at.

No, I didn't vote for him. I don't suspect that I would vote for him, given another chance. He is definitely an easy and fun target to mock (like many politicians), but don't disregard everything the guy has to say simply because you don't like something about him.

Gore is well spoken and trying to make positive changes. We would be a better nation today if the SC wouldn't have let Dubya steal that election.
Why all the anger over Gore, jealous perhaps?
