Why don't you write your Senator and Representative and propose just that?

Let's look at that.

Why doesn't an imaginary force called "government" impose a national language on us?

Let's turn it around again:

Why don't we, as the government, with our powers to vote, elect representatives, write legislation, protest, etc.,, propose a declaration of a national language?

When we want something few people want, that's when we want the first one, to impose it on everyone else.

When we want something most people want, that's when we use the reality and make it happen, because ultimately we are the government, despite the nonsense from anarchists, socialists, and the seditious who don't really understand how our government and economy work.

If you are a patriot, YOU do it! You might be surprised at how many people join you (or have already started)!

because the special interest are killing this country. end of story no other reason is right. they fear alienating the spanish speaking vote. the problem is that this will bankrupt our country why should we give stuff in Spanish but not in some language spoken by 50 people. it is purely wrong. english only for gov't survices was the rule until the 60's soon we will have forms in 500 languages.

English needs to be declared as "official language". Our politicians are too worried of loosing one or two votes, votes of people who just refuse to accept the fact that we need ONE tie to communication unity. They lack backbone and foresight.

Time has made this a political time bomb for any Senator/Congressman who votes for it. Unless of course they are from a Red State.

This should have been taken care of 30 years ago when the migration of Latinos started.

the main reason is because we are a melting pot and it is hard to say you can be many different cultures, but you are forced to learn english. it is just hard to actually implement. especially since most signs are printed in multiple languages now and to change them all to only english would hurt our society and our bilingual community

We do, English. It was one of the first things they did when the country started; any first grader knows that. It was between German & English, and English won by just one vote!
