i had the same problem with my laptop, the easiest thing to do is to phone your Internet Service Provider, mine were British Telecom and they sorted it out straight away

good luck!

i would call the internet service provider or if you know the ip address just change it i also connect to the internet wirelessly but this problem had never crossed my road but i had other problems so i contacted my provider and they walked me throw or if you can connect to your computer with the cable to the router then connect it and if it works look for the ip address and then disconnect it an change the ip address to the one that it worked with

I'm assuming you're using Windows. Try this:

Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network Connections.
Double-click the icon for your network connection.
Click Properties.
Find "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" in the list and double-click it.
Select "Obtain an IP address automatically".
Click OK (in both windows).
If you're prompted to reboot, then reboot.

Go to the network places page, on the wireless connection configure its properties, on its Internet Protocol properties set it to "Obtain IP address automatically".

It might be caused by your router. The router might not set-up correctly. Otherwise, the type of your router and the wireless in your laptop must be the same: G router + Wireless G in your laptop.

Its not connected to your modem. The modem has a ten digit code stamped on it .usually in brackets[ ] find it. write it down .go to your network wizard follow on screen instructions and put it in.it'll work.
