For me, it's Target. Their stores are usually clean, the aisles are nice and wide, and their electronics section (minus TVs) usually has just as much selection as Wal-Mart. Everything is categorized in a much more customer-friendly manner.

Then...
Wal-Mart: I work for WM, and I still don't love it. I admire the story of Sam Walton and how he built a great company, and actually, the job and benefits are not bad at all (contrary to popular belief.) However, have you been in a supercenter lately? Talk about dirty anywhere you go. And their prices aren't "Always Low Prices" anymore, really.

K-Mart: Sucks!

Sam's Club v. Costco: I'd vote for Costco. Their membership fee is higher, but their stores and nicer and more upscale than Sam's. It's easier get in, park, shop, and get out of Costco, and I like their selection of general/softline merchandise.

Costco.

Their membership is a little higher and have good merchandise.

People who work for them are paid better and treated better than the others especially Sam's Club.

We dont have Wal Mart in this country (Australia). There is KMart, Target and BigW (Woolworths) as the three biggest. I think Target is way the best for clothes - greater variety. I used to like KMart for hardware and auto stuff, but I think their quality has gone off in recent years. They are good for toys and household stuff. BigW is a clone of KMart, not as good on the houdsehold stuff. I wouldn't buy a big article (eg TV) from any of them - I'g get a much better deal from a specialist shop, or even one of the big department stores.

Target

Zupans first...then Target and last resourt Fred Meyers. I have had it with wal-mart. They've pissed me off once too many time with their horribly dirty enviornments, understocked shelves, and lines that take up to 55 minutes to get through.

I feel less like I'm shopping at wal-mart, and more like I'm at a 6 flags theme park... but with no rides... just a line. :(

i prefer target. i like walmart but youre right there prices are getting higher. and i really dont like kmart its just like ... yeah. i prefer costco because ppl buy more things from costco so the food is more fresh. my dad still goes to sams club and theres maybe like 50 ppl in there (incl staff) all the time! costco also has more brand names and its fun on a saturday afternoon!
