www.thinkgeek.com has a lot of cool stuff that guys like (at least my guy does).

You can find classical and jazz versions of music by modern bands at http://www.vitaminrecords.com/ (anything from the Beach Boys to Nine Inch Nails) - that can be fun (though you might want to save it for Valentines or anniversaries--since it's fun to play a string quartette version of his favorite band in the background of your romantic dinner, and see how long it takes him to catch on).

Without knowing your budget or your husband, there really isn't a good way to answer this question. That said, if I were your husband, you simply dressing up sexy and meeting me at the door ready to hit the bedroom when I get home would be more than enough for a special birthday gift! Cheap, too!

Here are a few useful items that I've used as gifts for my dad and brother.

Get an engraved lighter if he smokes.

A nice wallet, that too can be engraved depending on the type you get. One year I got that for my dad and put his initials on it.

A pair of running shoes if you see that his are worn out. I did that for my dad this year, and it was one of the most useful things in the world.

Tickets to see a sports game that he likes.

A nice sweater maybe? But that doesn't always work.

Something electronic like a lap top or a bluetooth for his phone. Maybe a new cellphone or a DVD burner. My friend bought her dad that and he never leaves it. An ipod?

OK I'm out of ideas.

I hope that helped.

I bought my husband a new cookware since he loves to cook. Maybe find something that he's interested in, or buy tickets to a concert or a show/movie that he's wanted to see for awhile.

You can NEVER go wrong with
electronics/tools/computer/ things
with buttons...

If the price range is an issue, try on-line auctions.

Buy yourself a sexy pair of underwear, wrap it up and give it to him, but you'll have to specify it's for YOU and he better not be caught wearing it!
