I was in a shop the other day buying tampons and even though i was like, "this stuff is a normal bodily function" i couldn't help but cringe everytime i passed a male while holding them.

Yes. Dreadful catastrophe when case burst open on the escallator and sweet young men handed me sanitary pads - I wished I was dead!

This is coming from a male perspective.

"Do you find it embarrassing to be seen by gorgeous males buying or holding a box of tampons or pads?"

This question is hilarious. I am never embarrassed by males, no matter what they look like, and . . . no matter if they are buying tampons or not!

Gotta love the misplaced modifier.

But seriously, I grew up with a mother and three sisters, and later acquired a wife and two daughters. I have probably purchased more pads than any three of your female responders combined. Its never been a problem for me.

If it's a problem for other men to see me, it's at least one that I can ignore very well -- to the point of not being aware!

One additional point: I have actually bought pads for myself. Trained in first aid, I learned early on that the best method for stopping serious bleeding is -- you guessed it -- a maxi-pad.

Why would/should you be embarrassed by something like that? What would happen the next time you go in to purchase condoms? Sure, the salespeople might giggle, but that's life and there is nothing to be ashamed of or these items would not be for sale. The males you are cringing about most probably had mothers who menstruated, or sisters, or wives or daughters...

Yes. When i was a young teen.
Mature men know that most women need those things. Its part of living.
When i was an older teen & in my 20's, i didnt care anymore.
I still dont. Now that im married, me or my husband buy my pads, depends on who is going to the store.
What i would get embarrassed about is buying yeast infection meds & intimate oils to get for me & my husband. I was thinking to get those things when we are both together.

Yes, yes, yes. Always have been embarrassed. If I get them at the supermarket I hide the box under some food stuff. I have actually asked my husband to buy them in CVS because it was the only thing I needed.

I *still* get embarrassed when I buy pads...and I am 30!

What's even more embarrassing is if the cashier is a male...and the pads are the ONLY thing that you're buying...but I try to act cool...coz hey, it's not my fault that you work in a store that sells pads, right? :)

I was thinking of buying tons of pads at one go...so that I needn't have to go through the torture of being embarrassed over and over again...but me imaginging the guy cashier's response - "Gee, are you haemhorraging?!" - prevents me from doing so...

I'm a guy. All that it says to me is that you are human. Don't be embarrassed by anything other than a misdeed.
When I was in the nuclear industry, we used to buy Kotex by the case. It was great for cleaning up any small spill.

After taking the time to fully absorb your question, I decided to be brief and not pad my answer with unneccesary verbage. From my perspective, a girl would really have to pull some strings to get me to buy those things. That's my final answer...period.

Yes, it can be embarrassing. But only a little bit. And usually only if it's a really hot male....

I know how you feel. I'm 40 and I realize it's normal, but still do not want to draw attention to myself with them...I always hide them under the other stuff in my cart :) Or if I'm carrying them, surround them with other items. That's just me :)
