I think it is very pretty. It would be better though to name the baby Katherine and then shorten it for a nick name.

I love the name Katie, also Anne or Katie Anne, Elizabeth, Hannah,Emily(my daughter) Rebecca(me). Sarah. Maggie...I really hate all these made up names with DE in front, or weird spellings of names (ruins a good name in my opinion and causes grief for the child). I would ike to see people return more to traditional names like Sophia etc. I especially like Biblical names.

I like the name Kate or Katherine. Katie is very cutesy. It doesn't really fit a grown woman, you have to think of these things when naming a baby, someday the baby will be an adult.
Katie would be more of a nickname than a given name

i love the name Katie!
If the name was Katelin, Katherine, or Kathleen, Katie could be used as a nickname or short version of those names

As someone who in real life goes by Katey I happen to love it.
Would you be using Katie as the full first name or using it as a shortened verison of something like Kathleen, Katelyn, or Katherine?
Also you could try to make it more unique by using different spellings of it, "Katie," "Katy," "Katie," Katey," "Kaite," "Caty," Caity" or anything along those lines.

Charles S you are a jerk.
In answer to your question, yes, I think Katie is a really cute name, and contrary to what others think, it is actually not even that popular anymore with the upcoming generations so it wouldn't be as common as it used to be.

No, I don't like nicknames as given names. I'd use Katherine and then just call the child Katie.

Wouldnt it be better to call the child Katherine but shorten it to Katie ? then she will have two options - Katherine for when she wants to be formal, katie amongst friends. Also she may prefer Katherine later on
