I'm always amazed at the Leonardo DaVinci answer. I have done a thorough web search and can find no invention of DaVinci's, period.
He did *not* invent a helicopter. Honest.
He was a painter who liked to doodle. If that's all that's required to be an inventor, then I have invented more rocket ships, race cars and tanks than all of humanity combined.
Most (all?) of DaVinci's so-called "inventions" were never invented and, if built strictly according to his diagrams' specifications, will not under any circumstances work.
If I am in error here, please let me know something that DaVinci actually *did* invent outside of a certain type of faulty plaster and a few other art-related fiascos.
All that being said, I'll have to go with Edison. Not only did he invent several things on his own, he ran an "invention factory" and successfully *managed* the invention of hundreds if not thousands of things.

at first God replaced into not an inventor! Holy Jebus, God is omniscient, so consequently he won't be able to invent or come across something because of the fact he's conscious each and every little thing already. in my opinion that guy is Archimedes, and he's ultimate for his intelligence and his visionary concepts. He developed issues that are nevertheless important to the international immediately. He invented calculus, it incredibly is the beginning of any progressed technological understanding. with out calculus our expertise of the international around us could be much less developed. between many different issues, he developed the 1st water pump, the pulley device that continues for use immediately for lifting heavy products, and the odometer. the main astonishing element approximately him is that he lived for the time of the third century B.C., while maximum folk had no expertise of math or technological understanding in besides.

Philo Farnsworth. Amazing how everyone knows Henry Ford, Fulton, and Marconi, but Farnsworth invented many important components of the television, including power, focusing systems, synchronizing the signal, contrast, controls, and scanning. He also invented a radar system, a cold cathode ray tube, a new type of baby incubator, and the first electronic microscope. Farnsworth held over 300 patents.
And virtually no one knows who he is!

Alexander Graham Bell. Without the phone we'd be lost. Still in the dark ages with no communication, internet, etc.

Nicola Tesla.......He was responsible for A/C motors, and if you trace many of his patents back he also was an early influence on radio and radar technologies.
