I don't like team sports (I am a dilettante when it comes to solo sports, however), I don't participate in contests of any kind, I purposely didn't apply to colleges I probably could've gotten into because I didn't think all the pressure/cutthroat competition was worth the chance of not getting in (I applied to just one "safety" school). Even when I'm doing classroom group projects or competing against other students in a class, I just get really passive, or I try to get out of dealing with any competition. I would be eaten alive on a reality show. LOL. Why am I so afraid of competition? I don't want to become a cutthroat (female dog), but to get ahead in life and to be successful, I have to have a reasonable amount of drive, and not be afraid of some healthy competition.

.....Instead of focusing on being competitive, which is about winning, I recommend you focus on what you're passionately interested in. Something you care very much about. Then get involved in jobs or activities that are related to that passionate interest. If you care a lot about something, you'll pursue it to the maximum extent, which will make you successful. If you try to be competitive in something you don't care about, it won't work.

Not sure what you're passionate interests are? I suggests you become passionately interested in finding out.

Maybe your just a passive person with a passive personality.. i don't think you need something to "drive" you because you probably already have something in mind that you want to do... You need to become more aggressive. =)

Hope that helps
