I agree with J-Far - unless the All-Star game is rained out, it will be better than the Derby.

I sure hope so, I thought besides the players actuallyy batting, the derby sucked. ESPN made it feel like a long slow process. Also I was disappointed that as I tried to watch the actuall derby, I had to watch Barry Bonds and ARod in a split screen. What the hell, I'm tired of hearing about both of them and to take the glory away from the actual home run derby competitors like Ordonez is a shame. If Barry and Alex want to interview they should go on Opera or the Reggis show. Congrats to the actually players.

I sure hope it is a lot better. By definition the all-star game is a GAME while homerun derby is nothing more than creating a little interest in the game and raising some money for MLB charities, which is good. It's nice to hear that someone actually thought the homerun derby was good.

Well i Think the home run derby is boring after the first round. All these guys are doing is hitting home runs. I stopped watching early this year because my guy, Prince Fielder, got knocked out in the first round. Also, this years Derby was boring compared to the years where mark mcguire, sammy sosa, and other great hitters were in it. So I think ithe All-Star Game will be better then the homerun derby this year.

When the highest HR total hit in the first round is 5, there's almost no doubt in my mind the All-Star game can't POSSIBLY be worse than the HR derby. I'm expecting offensive dominance tonight, despite some of the handful of amazing pitchers in attendance. Expect a relatively unknown or unexpected man to win the MVP, too. I'm thinking Pudge.

Doubt it
The Derby wasn't very good, but I've yet to see a good All-Star Game. The AL always wins so there really isn't a point in watching. I'll watch and root for the NL but they will still probably crap it up.

I never really enjoy the game. I'm one of those people that like to have a scorebook in my hand when I watch a game, and the All Star game is murder on a scorebook. Too many changes, so that makes it frustrating to watch. It's just an exhibition, there's not really any of the normal baseball elements in it. The great pitchers usually lead to games with not much action. I think it's boring when a game is a pitching duel. I like hits and runs.

Hopefully better. I thought the HR derby was rather pedestrian.
