i love luvs, they work really well and are cheaper then the other brands... but been useing huggies because they have the strechy sides. use luvs until the are to big for the size the are in but to small for the next size, then find ones with stechy sides.

For about the first four months we were able to use Target brand diapers. They ar pretty stiff, but good priced, and worked well. Then when she started eating more, I switched to Huggies because there is no elastic band on the Target brand ones, and she was peeing more -so the Target ones leaked.
I tried the Luvs and I hated them because they smell funny. They are powder scented or something and it was gross.
I prefer the Huggies ones all the way. If you have a Costco membership, you can get a box of like 230 of them for $35 -not too bad of a price. I think Huggies are the most expensive ones, but I love them.

My baby likes the Pampers Swaddlers as do we. It makes them feel more secure. Someone got us a pack of the huggies and I didn't really care for them. I don't think my baby noticed a difference, but they did have a tendency to leak easier. They weren't as snug as the swaddlers. Plus Pampers has dry weave (I think it's called) which helps keep the baby's skin dry. My baby is seven weeks old and has never had a problem with diaper rash. I think we will always buy and use the Pampers. They have worked very well for us and they are so darn cute! :)

Pampers Swaddlers! They go up to size 3, I believe. We had gotten about every brand you can think of at our shower, and these were the only ones that don't leak!! We went through so many sheets, towels and baby blankets before we realized it wasn't our babies, it was the diapers! Also, they have a nice dry weave that keeps baby's skin from sitting against their excrement, especially important when they start sleeping more hours at night! Other diapers would stick to our poor babies' skin, and because their was nothing to separate their skin from the poop, they had a lot more diaper rash too! The tape where you secure the diaper also has some elastic so it fits snugly against baby. The others did not, so the diaper would either leave a red mark, or not be snug enough, and leak. Hope this helps! Good luck! That's just what has worked for us! :-)

Huggies have more room for growth...are much more flexible around the waist, which means you can keep using the smaller huggies when your baby gets bigger. You get more of the smaller size diapers for the $$. You will understand when your baby starts growing out of each size.
We like the way pampers don't get HARD when wet (the cheaper brands all get hard, and huggies to to a lesser extent), and we also think that pampers smell better. (the cheaper brands smell like cardboard...hard to explain)
We don't like any other brands.

I think it depends on the baby/child. For my girls I loved Luvs they worked great and I never had any problems with leaking at all. Then I had my son...the only diaper (and I've tried them all I think LOL!) I can use on him without leaks is Pampers cruisers. I love how stretchy the sides are! I have heard Luvs has changed and has really stretchy sides now too not sure if its true but I'd love to know since I'm expecting another girl in Oct.

LUVS!!! I am very loyal to Luvs. Pampers are great too, and huggies before they get very mobile (the tabs aren't so great for active babies and toddlers) They are all comparable but you get more bang for your buck with Luvs!

We've tried most brands and cloth and for our fussy littly boy the best (and most gentle) have been Seventh Generation. They are a chlorine free diaper that doesn't smell at all!!! I've had dirty diapers sit in the diaper bag on hot days and you would never know they were there (it's the chlorine in the diapers that cause dirty diapers to smell so bad). They are just as absorbant as the brand names and really stretchy.
They are slightly more expensive and you can get them at a health food store.
But the thing about them is that they do not produce dioxins (cancer causing agents). So there is no dioxins entering your baby's fragile skin and no dioxins entering the landfills when you dispose of them. Much safer for mine and your babies.
We love them!!
And you can buy them in bulk over Amazon.com and they end up being quite comparable to the brand names.
Give 'em a try!
