The Magic Kingdom is mostly rides based on the Disney movies. That is where you will find Pirates of the Carribean and all such.
Disney-MGM Studios has mostly shows and a few rides like Rockin' Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror.
EPCOT has the World Showcase (11 countries are represented through food, shows, and examples of architecture) and a futuristic section at the front of the park.
Disney's Animal Kingdom is largely focused on conservation and the environment. This is the park with all the animals, and several good shows. It also has the best daytime parade. (At least I think so.)

Personally, I prefer MGM and Epcot. I love the shows at MGM, and the few rides that they have are really fun. I also love Epcot because of the World Showcase. The different foods and shows make for a great time. Also, both of these parks have great night shows. The fireworks at Epcot are amazing, and Fantasmic at MGM is the best show at the parks.

There are four theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM-Disney Studios, and Animal Kingdom. There are also water parks, golf courses, etc.

My favorite park is definitely Magic Kingdom. It feels the most Disney! It has the magic. Plus there are lots of rides, something for everyone. And it continues to be fun trip after trip, year after year. My second favorite is MGM-Disney Studios. I love Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, the Great Movie Ride, the Muppets, Star Tours...pretty much everything. Epcot is close, too. Animal Kingdom is a distant last.

Where?!?!!??!!?!?!??
J/K

I liked the Magic Kingdom most because it is just total immersion in what Disney is.
Epcot is nice, but alot of walking, and mostly learning, with fewer rides, but Mission Earth and Test track are very good.
Mgm is mostly shows, but the Aerosmith coaster and Tower of terror are the real reasons to stop by.
Animal kingdom is basically a zoo type attraction, but the Everest coster there is the most thrilling of the Disney lot.

If your only doing 1 day, I say get the full magic out of Magic Kingdom. But if you have more time, choose which other ones sound appealing to your tastes, or get a hopper and bounce around the other three.

Have fun!

actually, disneyworld had four parks.
Magic Kingdom -Traditional. the most "Disney" of the parks.
Epcot - science and World Travel meet. fun but usually a favorite of the older crowd.
Disney MGM studios - more about movies. has two of disneys best thrill rides. Rock and Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.
Animal Kingdom - great if you like animals but still has rides. but animals are still the stars.

although all have great rides, shows, attractions. it depends on what you want or like. hope this helps.
