Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same....and i guess that's one of the characteristics of a good friend... we meet all sorts of people some remain strangers...some become phriends( the so called friends i would say)...some become good friends and then there are those that become GREAt friends...yes theses are the ones we are all really looking for and the ones hardest to find.. they're true, loyal, stand by our side through thick and thin, understand us, we share laughter with them but we only share our pain with them... these friends are rare but are like a true treasure to have... they make this not so easy life easier this complicated journey much better.. these friends are genuine, honest and supportive...and open minded....for me a great friend has to be all those things..loyal..true..honest even if its gut rinching honest...genuine and to be a good person !.. yeah and i feel lucky to say i know some people just like that.. =)

The first thing to look for in a friend is probably a smile. Yes, it might sound silly but hey someone else's smile can brighten up your day! Everyone is different though and so don't go for the same type of friends as others. For example, many people will be attracted to the quiet type whilst others are attracted to the loud outgoing ones. Obviously though, they will all have similar things in common. For example, friendliness, happiness, the gift of being able to put a smile on your face. A good friend listens to your problems and feels comfortable enough to express their problems to you. Being a good friend, they will offer their advice and try to help you as best as they can. A good friend will give their honest opinion without making you feel like a loser. They will be able to tell you when you look stupid without totally insulting you on purpose. But they should be loyal, trustworthy, ect. ect. but people seem to forget that no one is perfect so when you do make a great friend take their bad points along with their good points and don't focus on the things that annoy you. Focus on why you love being with them and why they put the smile back on your face. :D

When your heart skips a bit when you fear for the worst for this person. When your soul cries when you see tears in their eyes. When they can drive the mistrust of your mind away. When their smile makes you smile and when your tears make them cry. When your worries are their worries. When you look into their eyes and there is only love. When they listen to your unspoken words. When they are in every single corner of your memory. That's when you know a relationship is pure; but most importantly is when your heart tells you that you love those people more than anything in the world! Your heart is your guide! :-)
Above is what I said to a very dear friend of mine when she asked how do we know when a friendship is pure; and now I've realised that those steps also bring you a pack of great friends! Someone loving, understanding and 'an angel' to your eyes would be a perfect imperfect Friend for you! Just remember never try to look for perfection in your friends...turn the imperfect into perfect! :-)
Thank you! :-)

>> The stem of a flower, they keep you standing strong >>The guide dog of the blind, they help you to chose the right paths and support you every step of the way >>
The photograph album, they help you confine and cherish your special memories >> The early morning sun, they blind you with light. The salt of the Dead Sea, they keep you above water >>
>> The blood flowing through your veins, they come straight from the heart...
....they hide inside your smiles and your tears.x
So, this is what I look not only to receive put to give. I try to be the stem, the guide dog, the photograph album, the early morning sun, the salt of the Dead Sea & the blood.
I'm happy to say, that I've found a few friends (more than I expected) of this kind.x. they know who they are, and I love them to death!
thank you :-)
have a wonderful day!

A good for to me is someone who is there for you matter what,b/c i would be the same way. I look for kindness in someone but its hard to see if someone is really a good person till a while after we become friends. Friendship is very important to me and I cherish that. I don't like someone who cares only about them selves and don't care if you need their shoulder to cry on but they always want your shoulder to cry on. Its hard to be friends with someone like that. That self fish. I am a very loving person.

First of all, someone who can put up with me and my tantrums and my oddity. Most of the friends I have see me as weird and that type of label shouldn't exist in friendship.
- I'd need a friend who would understand me even if I do things that seem unexplainable to them
- someone who would be patient
- someone who wouldn't just walk away or ignore me during my tantrums, but would try to calm me and wouldn't go away until they managed to
- someone who wouldn't label me regardless of what I did
- someone who would be 100% implied in my problems and life just like I am in theirs
- someone who would trust me and would give me the deserved credit
The main problem I have with my friendships is that I'm usually taken advantage of. I could spend countless nights trying to calm them down and talking to them and offering advice. But whenever I try to change the subject and talk about something that's personal or that I'm interested in, they don't even show themselves interested, let alone offer advice. Eh.
