f(x) = 4x^2 - x + 3 ......... find f(-2)

f(-2) = 4*(-2)^2 - (-2) +3
f(-2) = 4*(4) - (-2) +3
f(-2) = 16 + 2 + 2
f(-2) = 20

f (- 2) = 4 x 4 + 2 + 3 = 21

What you need to do is substitute in a -2 for every 'x' yuou see in the equation.
Therefore,
f(-2)=4(-2)^2 - (-2) + 3
=4(4) + 2 + 3
=16+2+3
=21
