Thank goodnes you and Faith are here, both of you seem to have more sense than these zombies that follow the infamous leader, dare I say his name?! I think you are completely right in what you are saying, I mean-lets face it, it has turned into a witch hunt and the callousness and insensitivity shown on here by some people shows no bounds. Accusations are being thrown about left right and centre and its becomming a bit nasty to watch.

I have never really got involved in this debate but i would just like to say that having read some of the comments made by people I think saturnfive is very right.
I have been left feeling sick by some of the comments I have read.
Dave s i thought the burden of proof lay with the accuser, innocent until PROVEN guilty ?
As for the Embodiment of evil and Cut up body comment I am left wondering if these people need robust professional help and would much prefer the McCanns to either of these two.

Don't be so naive! You can't throw a story like this out into multi-media-world and expect crazy people to keep quiet. There appear to be 3 distinct camps with regards to this case:
Camp 1 - The McCann's are jerks (the majority)
Camp 2 - The McCann's are victims (a vocal minority)
Camp 3 - The McCann's did it (a small fraction)
Whether you like the McCann's or not, everyone at least wants this story to end happily with Maddy home safe with her family. Don't get hung up on the conspiracy posts; just do what you can to help find that baby.

I do not support what the McCanns did that night or what they did every night by leaving their children, I find the way they come across very odd and I find the whole fund business very strange.
However, i agree, people who make comments like "I know they did it" and the question about the parents being capable of cutting up a body based on their being doctors was disgusting.
I tend to just boycott those questions as they are usually just posted for shock value by people who offer nothing to this forum in terms of debate and who are generally plankton.
I've no problems discussing any issue with people who agree and who disagree with my opinion, but there is a line which often gets crossed by certain posters.
Questions like that are best just ignored.

There are a few people who have made comments like this, but this doesn't mean that all those who are against the McCanns feel this way. I am not pro McCan, but purely for the reason that they left their kids alone, vulnerable and at great risk, for which they have paid the highest price possible. There are many conspiracy theories, like there are about many cases in the news. I just hope that that poor child is found, but I really do think that the parents should be held responsible for leaving her to be taken by someone.

Yes, it seems a bit hysterical to say such things.
However, it is an interesting use of the media by individuals, and vice versa, and so attracts a lot of attention, so there's going to be people who would be so inclined in any circumstance to be swept up in a lynch mob mentality at the faintest sniff of opportunity.
I personally find the whole McCann thing, after the event, weird and disturbing on many levels, by all parties involved, Popes, amateur detectives, Portuguese police, Prime Ministers, Parents, suspects, onlookers and the media, and even me joining in, likening it to the Diana death phenomenon, on a slightly smaller scale.

The fact is that Gerry McCann is a liar...
He and his wife have not told the police everything...they are hiding something..now it might be that its just their routine neglect of their Children and that is all they have to hide...BUT..they continue to lie..Gerry's Wallet..that was lies..why all the lies and deciept...is it just to make money??
If it is then they deserve all the vilification they are getting...but maybe there is even more...maybe they did kill her...
In any event I have no sympathy whatso ever..they have bought all this down on themselves.

Saturnfive a few months back you refered to me as a moron coz I made a stupid comment about the McCaans lol...no offense taken, and back then I admit I was full of rage for them...really hated them. The story was still quite fresh then and in the headlines so I was just angry at the way they were acting etc....but I agree with you about these other posts...they are a bit below the belt. I don't think we will ever find out what happened to Maddie, but I defo do NOT think they did anything to her....like I have said a million times before they are guilty of leaving her.

I don't for one moment think the parents were involved in cutting up a body, but you can understand why the rumours start to fly. The whole thing has been very suspicious from the start. Apparently 12 children go missing every day. I just feel sorry for the parents of other missing kids who for whatever reason have not been given the help or publicity that this family has.

I saw that "Question", i don't personally think that they murdered her and cut up the body.
But, the problem with the Mccann's is the lies they have told right from the beginning. Their behaviour has been very strange, for instance allowing 22 people to search the children's bedroom, thereby contaminating the crime scene. The fact that it was the complex manager who called the police, two hours after Madeleine's disappearance, and remember that the parents straight off said she had been abducted.
I am very suspicious of what happened that night, particularly when i hear about a pact of silence from the Mccann's and their friends who were there.
Don't even start about the Money!
You cant blame people for having conspiracy theories, and who knows, some might just be correct. (Although others are VERY far fetched)

Just goes to show a what a thoroughly nasty lot are on here sometimes. All I want to see is that poor child found and the parents reprimanded for leaving them in the first place. If Joe and Bertha Bloggs had left their children alone to go for a night out they would have been crucified by the press and all the chattering classes. Social services would have kicked the door in at 03:00 hours to haul them out. Lets see some judicial equity!
