This morning I've asked three questions - one of which was an intentionally bear-baiting question to the conservative right - two of which were about terrorist procurement of nuclear devices (Pakistan - near future and Iran - distant future). The bear-baiting question received more responses than the questions that were based on serious issues. It's odd that a question that defies reality warrants more responses than one that is based in reality. Any thoughts?

It's obvious, many people who do the ranting on here, don't know what they are talking about. they receive their information from other people on this website or other silly websites.

I have seen factual and accurate answers get a thumbs down or even deleted.

while insults and silly rants get thumbs up or best answer.

It seems like more people would rather harp on the left vs right, liberal vs conservative pissing matches than actually discuss serious issues requiring thought, insight, debate, and most importantly, listening to all points of the issue.

What does this tell us? I don't know. Maybe it's specific to this forum but I don't think so, it's on radio and tv and other websites. I think it's bad for everyone and we should only blame ourselves, but blaming the media for trivializing everything is easier.

How many people spend time doing any research or actually read a book or a journal? Not as many that catch headlines from online blogs and talking heads on the tv.

So nuclear procurement is not a reality, look at the red mosque in Islamabad what do you think would happen if Musharraf fell and these animals took power ,if you want to kick a bear in the a-s just remember its claws and teeth.

Well, there was one member of the Bush Administration -- it might have been Paul Wolfowitz, but I'm not sure -- who said "We can create our own reality."

But it was a true conservative, the late Senator Pat Moynihan (officially a Democrat, but let's be honest, he was a political transvestite like Joe Lieberman) who said, "You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts."

It just means people have more opinions than information. They know they hate "lieberals" or that Faux News is crap...but a question about issues takes an informed person to answer.
