If you're a Texan, did you know its not polite to ask others what state they're from? Its because if they're from Texas they'll tell you, but if they're from another state they'll be embarrassed. The answer to your question is; It an attitude thing (Don't Mess with Texas!) that people from other states can't grasp because they don't have it in their state. They can only envy. God Bless Texas!
PS: Its proper Texas etiquette to ALWAYS add the phrase "God Bless Texas" when writing (or thinking) the word "Texas."
PS#2: I starred your question, but assuredly it won't be The Lone Star!

We are the only state that used to be a country. We have the best Mexican food. We have every kind of terrain you could want. The men are men and the women are women. Hell, the gays are even gays. We believe in independance, the right to be left alone, and the right to defend yourself. We are loaded with hospitality, and we have plenty of room.

I didn't know it was the best state.
You sound like Hank Hill on the cartoon, "King of the Hill".

I'm all for selling it to Mexico. Why won't the secede from the Union again? This time we'd probably let them!
